WHAT SPORT THE BALL BELONGS

Level: Primary-school students between the ages of 7-9 years old. 
Time: From 25 to 30 minutes. 
Skill: Listening-Writing
Objective: Students write the sports in English by listening to a song about balls with its respective sport word.

Description: 

•To begin the class, the teacher introduces the topic by asking the students about what sport they usually practice. 

•Hence, to explain more about sports a video English song about sports is shown because the teacher needs that their students learn more about kinds of sports. This video is shown twice or three times in order to the kids understand what the video is about. 

•The previous activity is carried out at the same time with an exercise that asks to match images with its respective words. This activity will take 15 minutes. 

•At the end of the class, the teacher takes all the sheets in order to check them and to give a grade.

ENGLISH NUMBERS

Level: Primary-school students between the ages of 6-8 years old. 
Time: From 30 to 40 minutes. 
Skill: Integrated 
Objective: To make students learn the numbers from 0 to 10 by means of watching a video of numbers song. 

Description: 

•First, the teacher shows the kids an image where numbers from 0 to 10 are in it. The purpose of this step is that students realize how numbers in English are written and pronounced. Next, the children practice their speaking by repeating the numbers after the teacher pronounce them. 

•To improve listening in children, a video-song by A.J. Jenkins about English numbers is shown in the class. At the same time the teacher ask the kids to sing the song to improve their pronunciation. 

•Then, to apply writing skill a worksheet is given to students. The worksheet contains images about numbers and students have to write in front of them the respective number. 

•Before the class is finished, all children are asked to read the numbers in group.

TRANSPORTATION MEANS

Level: Primary-school students between the ages of 7-8 years old.
Time: From 30 to 40 minutes. 
Skill: Writing 
Objective: To know the different means of transportation in English by filling the blanks in words missing some letters.

Description: 

•The class begins by explaining the students about what the main means of transportation in the world are. 

•Then, the teacher shows some images about the most common transportation means in order to make the students associate English words with the images.  

•Next, a video is shown in which some means of transportation are named in order to make students become familiar with those words otherwise. 

•Consequently, the teacher gives the students an exercise where it is necessary to fill out some missing letters in some words.

•At the end of the class, the students are asked to find out about other transportation means in order to say them in the next class.

Exercise: 

MEMBERS OF FAMILY

Title: Members of the Family. 
Level: Secondary-school students between the ages of 14-16 years old. 
Time: From 30 to 40 minutes. 
Skill: Writing 
Objective: Students have to recognize what are the members of a family by means of putting in a correct order disorganized words. 

Description: 

•The teacher begins the class by explaining the students about what the members in a family are such us; mother, father, aunt, cousin, grandfather, mother-in-law, and so on. This activity is supported by showing an image.   

•Therefore, the teacher asks students to make groups of three people in order to develop an activity in which students have to organize some words that are in an incorrect order. This activity takes 10 minutes.  

•When the previous activity is finished, each group has to say the different words but in its correct order. 

•Then, another activity to reinforce what students have been taught is to find words about family members in an alphabet soup. 

•Finally, the teacher asks the students to take a piece of paper in which they have to write about how their family is composed and how many they are in order to know if the students understood about members of the family.

FREE WRITING

Level: Secondary-school students between the ages of 14-16 years old. 
Time: From 25 to 30 minutes. 
Skill: Writing 
Objective: By means of free writing strategy, a specific student group will be able to write fearlessly by writing down their ideas without worrying about form or being correct.

Description: 


•The activity is started by greeting students and introducing them the class topic by means of answering about what they usually like to write. 


•The activity continues by asking the students to take a piece of paper in which they have to write about a free topic during 15 minutes. 


•The previous activity will be supported by classical music in order to they can concentrate on it. 


•Later, when the activity is finished, the teacher asks some students to read their writings in order to know what writing level they have. 


•Then, a video (two-minute long) is shown to students giving tips to improve writing skills. 


•Finally, to finish the class teacher is going to assign the students a writing homework and then I say goodbye.

UNDERLINE THESIS STATEMENT AND TOPIC SENTENCES

Level: Secondary-school students between the ages of 14-16 years old. 
Time: From 30 to 40 minutes. 
Skill: Reading 
Objective: To teach students to identify Thesis statement and Topic Sentences in a text by means of reading paragraphs. 

Description: 

•First, the teacher begins the class introducing the topic about Thesis statement and Topic Sentences by showing a format letter. 

•Then, main characteristics of Thesis statement and Topic Sentences are explained to students by showing two images which contain examples about the topic. 

•Following, a short text about Global warming is given to students in order that they underline the Thesis statement and Topic Sentences on it. The activity is carried out during 15 minutes. 

•To finish the class, the teacher asks students to hand in their texts to be reviewed in group for the following class.

Objective: Students learn English words by means of reading a short poem where some words are replaced by images. 

Description: 


•The teacher begins the class introducing four words to students. The words are; Cat, Paws, House and Mouse. 


•To continue with the activity the teacher gives students a short poem in which some words are replaced by images. The purpose of the activity is that students read the short poem replacing the images by its respective words. 10 minutes are estimated for this activity. 


•Before the class is finished, all students are asked to say in group the respective words by reading the short poem aloud.
